Feedback on assignment
Assignment-1: Blurb books _ just remember the dangers of quality loss and make sure that you indicate to the assessors that you are aware of preparing images for book/magazine printing
can I submit book with prints from assignment?
YES but be aware of lay out in book; also need to send digital files
make a note of differences between the two mediums
Assignment-2: Book cover – check the link in the blog and if you want to run any further changes past me just e-mail me …
Would like to submit hard copy photograph along with texts

original idea could have worked with just green cover for a hardback edition
Essay digital copy – don’t forget to submit a digital copy to the office (perhaps give them a ring if there are no instruction on the information they sent you about assessment) and there is no real need to include a hard copy for the assessors
Assignment-3: want to submit as Blurb book as before
OK but remember with digital files limitations of Blurbing e.g. poor layout
Assignment-4: essay does not need to be printed out; a digital copy is required to check for any plagiarisation
Assignment-5: submit as PDF or print of … ?
point about the sword dance – can it be included !?
concerns with lay out – crossing gutter:
make clear that PDF only for viewing not page lay out
find out what editor wants e.g. link, PDF, individual images … initially, good quality JPEGs with watermark perhaps best !! PDF for larger quantity when contact made that one can provide high quality stuff
make 4-6 prints for assessment to let tutors know you are competent (NOT mounted)
stolen images – a bother, not much one can do but legal options available
Clarity – magazine press likely to soften images
Layout issues explained – make sure that it is obvious to the assessors that the Mummers play images are not a suggested double-page spread so there is no issue with bleeding across the gutter
Learning Logs/Critical essays
The logbook is looking good and easy to navigate check revised cover link as above.
To misquote Orwell, “Two clicks good, four clicks bad!”
